Pumpkin Valley Farm - Dayton, Maine

Have Fun this Fall at Pumpkin Valley Farm. If you're lucky enough to be traveling along the scenic Saco River in Maine this autumn, plan to visit the Pumpkin Valley Farm in Dayton. This family farm owned by Keith and Angela Harris is a great place for families to have fall-style fun.

Pumpkin Valley Farm is the ideal place to pick your own Halloween pumpkins. The price of admission includes a short hayride to the farm's Pick Your Own Pumpkin Patch. The price of pumpkins is $ .39 a pound, with a $2 minimum. Pumpkin Valley Farm is also the place to go for all of your other fall decorating items: cornstalks, gourds and straw are all available.

Find your Way to Fun

Picking your own pumpkins is fun, but that's just one of the activities families can enjoy at Pumpkin Valley Farm. This year marks the farm's 7th annual cornfield maze. Each year, Pumpkin Valley Farm's maze features a fun theme and design, plus a great opportunity to learn about agriculture. A whopping 5 acres of eight-foot high corn stalks are carefully crafted into a maze that's not just fun and challenging, but truly a work of art.

You can navigate the maze on your own, or opt for a helping hand with the Passport. Passports feature 10 trivia questions with multiple choice answers. Answer a question, and you'll be told which way to turn at various points in the maze. Correct answers can help you find your way out of the maze.

Another fun way to experience Pumpkin Valley Farm's maze is on a special Moonlight Maze adventure. This year, Moonlight Mazes will be available on Friday Oct. 24th and Saturday Oct. 25 from 6 to 9 pm. Brave the maze by the light of the moon if you dare, or bring along your flashlight.

Snacks, Games and More at the Courtyard

Pumpkin Valley Farm's Courtyard is one more place where kids can have fun at the farm. Kids can try to hit the target with the Corn Launcher, take a ride through the Slide Tunnel, and climb to the top of the Tire Pyramid. Each child 12 and under receives one free ride on the Cow Train. The Animal Barnyard and Kiddie Play Area are two more attractions at the Courtyard kids will love. Light refreshments and snacks are also available here.

Visit the Farm Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from September 20 through October 26.
